Where'd they go?
Peggy went out to feed the birds in the aviary yesterday and found our two new canaries were missing! She found this in the nest box;

What kind of Snake is that? Sorry your new birds were the snakes breakfast.

It's a Gopher Snake.
Aw criminy! I'm all for snakes, in fact Eric brings us every one he can catch for our rodent laden pasture but SO glad we haven't lost any of our own critters to them. Maybe cuz we wait to put our chicks outside until they are too big for the local snakes to eat and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be able to take down a cow- hahaha!
Someone should tell that snake those were birds not gophers, maybe he needs some glasses or a new tongue.
