We spent this past weekend up in Heber. We had to go check on a cabin owned by the family in nearby Chevelon Retreat. It was really trashed. We cleaned up a bit and boarded up the windows. It'll probably be sold soon as it's not a very enjoyable area and nobody goes there anymore. Later, in town, people told us there's a lot of lawlessness out there - meth labs, vandalism (obviously), etc. There's some real nice houses out there with some real nice folks, but a few bad apples...well, you know.
Heber was cold, but nice. We woke up Sunday morning to a nice sprinkling of snow and by the time we hit the road to come home it was snowing pretty good. A few miles out of Heber we were in a regular blizzard which lasted until we got to Payson. About 10 miles into the journey we were driving on 2 inches of packed snow and visibility was about 50 feet. The back two tires on the truck were close to bald, but we had a heavy load in the bed which helped immensely. We stopped to eat Breakfast/Lunch at Denny's and by the time we left the sun was bright and shining again. Yup...this is Arizona!

Seriously I wish when they caught people doing stuff like that, they would just shoot them. That crap makes me so mad!! It's too bad no one goes up there anymore though It looks so pretty!
I guess it's a good thing I didn't go with you. It would have been pretty crowded in the truck with one more! Glad you are home safe and sorry about the damage!
Yeah, what Angie said. What kind of people do stuff like that? Oh well it looks like you had a nice weekend anyway!
