My 45 Second Commute

I've been having some trouble with my helmet camera lately, so I was doing some testing today and came up with something fun. It's a time-lapse of my 45-minute commute home from work condensed to 45 seconds.

I set my camera up to snap a picture once every 5 seconds and then stuck it on the dash of my truck. When I got home I compiled all 467 pictures into a video and here's the result...

By the way - the problem with the camera? Yup, you guessed it. There was nothing wrong with it. Just another case of me not reading the directions enough. :)

Dang! Peggy's Trophy is Bigger Than Mine

Peggy has been caring for a friend's sick dog over the past month or so. They wanted to pay her, but Peggy refused and asked them to just bring her something cool from Mexico instead.

When Our friends went to Mexico last week there was a storm that washed some whale bones up on the beach. This one was one of the few that didn't still have meat on it, so they thought it would make a nice gift for Peggy. We're told it's from a Fin Whale. It makes a nice decoration for our pool area.

San Diego Day 3

Last night Klara spent the night with Wendy and then went to work with her. Wendy's a professional makeup artist and had a job on a video shoot that she thought Klara would enjoy. Klara had a good time and we picked her up from the shoot mid-morning.

After we picked up Klara we headed to Balboa park and stayed until the museums closed. After that we headed to Ocean Beach for a swim and to watch the sun go down. We finished our night with hamburgers at the world-famous Hodads!

San Diego Day 2

We had planned to spend the morning touring the aircraft carrier USS Midway, then after lunch do the maritime museum and take a harbor cruise on a clipper. Turns out the Midway is huge and took us most of the day to get through it.

After the midway we met up with Wendy and her kids and went to a beach full of seals. We finished the evening eating TONS of sushi and listening to people make fools of themselves singing karaoke.

San Diego Day 1

After getting up this morning we realized we forgot our camera at home. We spent the first couple of hours this morning shopping for a digital camera. Once we made our purchase we headed up to Vista near Oceanside to visit Peggy's cousin, Wendy, her husband Carl and their daughter Krissi. We had lunch at a good fish house by the beach and spent the rest of the afternoon goofing around in the tidepools and on the beach.

In the evening we drove back down the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) enjoying the sunset on the ocean and all the little communities along the way. We stopped at Mission Beach to ride the roller coaster in Belmont Park and get some supper. A very nice day.

Shootin'

Charlotte got a PINK "Red Rider" style BB gun for her birthday. Today we had time to go out and teach her to shoot a bit. Lot's of fun!

Geico Offshore Racing Team

We were at the International Sportsman's Expo last weekend and Charlotte made friends with the folks at the Geico Offshore Racing Team display. They took a bunch of pics with her and let her get on all of the racing machines. Some other people asked if they could do the same, but the team owner told them it was only for "special friends!" I can tell you Charlotte really loved that!

The Crush-o-nator

This is Crush, our newest charity case. She came with a broken pelvis, but she's back to normal kitten mode now. She just loved a piece of bubble wrap that was lying around our room so I folded it into a nice little bed and tucked it under my night stand. She took to it immediately - as you can see!

Crush needs a home. 3 cats is just too many! Her growth seems a little behind and her adult teeth are already coming in so Peggy thinks she'll stay quite small. Any takers?
