Another Daughter, Another Dance

Klara's turn this time. I feel like she spent more time looking at boys outside the dance than she did dancing with her dad! I'm not sure why the boys were hanging around so late after school, ummm...I take that back. I know EXACTLY why those boys were hanging around! Just look at this pic for the answer...

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

Okay, I know some of you have questioned my love of this movie, so here's a little proof: If I didn't enjoy it so much would I have found this clip put together with Matt Mattox's own voice rather than Bill Lee's that was dubbed in for the released version of the movie? I think not! Enjoy 'Lonesome Polecat' in Matt's voice...

Charlotte's First Dance

Charlotte had a big day on Thursday...it was her first Daddy-Daughter dance at the school. It's a PTSO fundraiser put on by the older kids. We had a snack when we got there and then danced the night away! Plus there were really embarrassing things for the Dads to do - like a Hula-Hoop contest. I think I lost in exactly 0.023 seconds!

Girl Scout Cookie Time!

Wrong time to be on a diet!

We went to pick up cookies last Saturday morning. Good thing the girls weren't with us, there was no room for them to sit. The van was full except for the driver's seat and the bed and cab of the truck were full too!

I've been shopping, but not like you think!

I started this stand for our front-load washer and dryer when we got them over a year ago. I got distracted by the new floors and a few other projects. Before I knew it a year was gone and Peggy was asking where her drawers were. Oops, sorry Honey!

The stands that you get from the appliance manufacturers are kinda crappy and useless so I decided to make this so we could store canned goods in the drawers.

Tonight when I got home I cut all the drawer parts, made the dadoes and started assembly.

I was 'SHOP'ping! Thanks, DAD, for all the awesome skills!

Yup...this is Arizona.

We spent this past weekend up in Heber. We had to go check on a cabin owned by the family in nearby Chevelon Retreat. It was really trashed. We cleaned up a bit and boarded up the windows. It'll probably be sold soon as it's not a very enjoyable area and nobody goes there anymore. Later, in town, people told us there's a lot of lawlessness out there - meth labs, vandalism (obviously), etc. There's some real nice houses out there with some real nice folks, but a few bad apples...well, you know.

Heber was cold, but nice. We woke up Sunday morning to a nice sprinkling of snow and by the time we hit the road to come home it was snowing pretty good. A few miles out of Heber we were in a regular blizzard which lasted until we got to Payson. About 10 miles into the journey we were driving on 2 inches of packed snow and visibility was about 50 feet. The back two tires on the truck were close to bald, but we had a heavy load in the bed which helped immensely. We stopped to eat Breakfast/Lunch at Denny's and by the time we left the sun was bright and shining again. Yup...this is Arizona!

Bob and Rita

We had a real nice visit with Bob and Rita, but they had to press on to southern Arizona to do a service mission. Bye Bob and Rita, have a great time and see you again soon!

Family Not-at-Home Evening

My best friend's folks, Bob and Rita, came to visit for a week on their way to do a service mission in Southern Arizona. They're like family to us and we love to have them here. Peggy wanted to do something fun with them before we left so I spent the day today getting plates and OHV stickers for all the quads and my bike (new Arizona law.) After a few minor repairs and working over a leaky tire we managed to get out to Boulders for a ride. Rita wasn't feeling well and stayed behind. :(
